About

My name is Ernesto Ramirez and I have built The Active Office site as a project to showcase my work in creating active work environments, conduct new and exciting research in the field, and to create a repository of information related to active workplaces.

I am currently a doctoral student in the Joint Doctoral Program in Public Health (Health Behavior) at San Diego State University and University of California, San Diego. I am currently currently working at the Center for Population and Wireless Health Systems (CWPHS) housed within the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology (CALIT2). My focus is specifically on how to use existing and new technologies to better measure/understand behavioral patterns and then harnesses technology solutions to create effective interventions for individuals. I am very interested building and using systems that will take advantage of Web 3.0 technologies to better the health of individuals and populations. Web 3.0 will focus on using new technologies that autonomously sense and learn about behavior patterns and elicit recommendations and actions to change the patterns of behavior to make individuals healthier.

Please take a look around and learn a little bit about how to incorporate more activity into your work life.
